The great plays, the great movies, the great books that have been written about family, they will all like you to believe that blood is thicker than water, but in real life, a broken heart can sometimes make blood run thin and water run thick.
Family - it's our rock, our salvation. These are the people we are closest to in the whole world. They share our dreams, they share our blood. And yet, it's often those closest to us are capable of hurting us most deeply.
"To be or not to be" - that was not the question in Hamlet. The question was "How could my uncle kill my father and marry my mother?" Is that what they mean by family entertainment?
Real life is even more frightening. A world's famous player it's accused of strangling his wife. Two brothers are found guilty of massacring their parents. And the Government tells us that almost 16% of the murders commited in this country are perpetrated by one family member against another.
